Gardasil 9 is a vaccine used to protect against nine types of human papillomavirus (HPV). HPV is a very common virus spread through close skin-to-skin contact and sexual contact, and certain types are linked to cancers of the cervix, anus, throat, and other areas.

The vaccine is recommended for adolescents and adults, including those who were not vaccinated earlier, to help reduce the risk of HPV-related cancers and genital warts.
