ellaOne® is a prescription-only emergency contraceptive tablet used to help prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure.

It contains the active ingredient ulipristal acetate and is most effective when taken as soon as possible after unprotected sexual intercourse. ellaOne® can be used up to 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected sex.

At The Kingston Pharmacy, ellaOne® is supplied as part of our clinician-led emergency contraception service following a suitability assessment by our clinicians.

How to Use ellaOne®

If vomiting occurs within three hours of taking ellaOne®, you should seek advice as another dose may be required.
