Description
What is Enstilar® Foam?
Enstilar® Foam is a prescription-only treatment used for the management of plaque psoriasis. It contains two active ingredients, calcipotriol and betamethasone dipropionate, which work together to reduce inflammation, scaling and redness associated with psoriasis.
Plaque psoriasis is a long-term skin condition that causes patches of red, inflamed skin covered with silvery scales. These plaques commonly occur on the elbows, knees, scalp and trunk, although they can affect other areas of the body.
At The Kingston Pharmacy, Enstilar® Foam is supplied as part of our clinician-led plaque psoriasis treatment service following a suitability assessment by our clinicians.
Available Strengths
Enstilar® Foam contains:
- Calcipotriol 50 micrograms/g
- Betamethasone dipropionate 0.5mg/g
The treatment is supplied as a foam for topical application to affected areas of the skin.
Our clinicians will determine whether Enstilar® Foam is suitable for you and provide guidance on how to use it safely and effectively.
How Does Enstilar® Foam Work?
Enstilar® Foam combines two active ingredients that target different aspects of plaque psoriasis.
Calcipotriol is a vitamin D analogue that helps normalise the rapid skin cell growth seen in psoriasis. Betamethasone is a corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation, redness, itching and irritation.
Together, these ingredients help improve the appearance and symptoms of psoriasis plaques.
Treatment may help to:
- Reduce redness and inflammation
- Reduce scaling and plaque formation
- Relieve itching and discomfort
- Improve the appearance of affected skin
- Support long-term psoriasis management
For best results, treatment should be used exactly as prescribed by your clinician.

You may be suitable for treatment if you:

- Have been diagnosed with plaque psoriasis
- Have mild to moderate psoriasis affecting the body

All patients must complete a clinical assessment before treatment can be prescribed.
How to Use Enstilar® Foam
Enstilar® Foam should be applied directly to affected areas of the skin exactly as directed by your clinician.
The foam should be shaken before use and applied in a thin layer to psoriasis plaques.
