What is Foundayo® (orforglipron)?

Foundayo® is a prescription-only weight loss treatment containing orforglipron. It is a once-daily GLP-1 tablet used to support weight loss and long-term weight management in adults who meet the appropriate prescribing criteria.

Unlike injectable GLP-1 treatments, Foundayo® is taken by mouth as a tablet and does not require injections.

At The Kingston Pharmacy, Foundayo® is supplied as part of our clinician-led weight loss service following a suitability assessment by our qualified prescribing clinicians.

• 0.8mg
• 2.5mg
• 5.5mg
• 9mg
• 14.5mg
• 17.2mg

Treatment normally begins at 0.8mg once daily, with the dose gradually increased at intervals of at least 30 days.

Your clinician will determine the most appropriate dose and dose escalation schedule based on your individual treatment plan, response and tolerability.

 

 

 

How Does Foundayo® Work?

Foundayo® contains orforglipron, a GLP-1 receptor agonist. It works by mimicking the action of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), a naturally occurring hormone involved in appetite regulation.

By acting on areas of the brain involved in appetite, Foundayo® can help you feel fuller for longer, reduce hunger and decrease food cravings.

This can make it easier to reduce your calorie intake and make sustainable dietary changes that support weight loss and long-term weight management.

Foundayo® should be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity as part of a comprehensive weight management programme.

Who May Be Suitable for Foundayo®?

You may be suitable for treatment if you:

• Are aged 18 years or over
• Have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 or above
• Have a BMI of 27 or above but below 30 with at least one eligible weight-related health condition
• Are looking for additional support with weight management
• Have found it difficult to achieve sufficient weight loss through lifestyle changes alone
• Prefer an oral GLP-1 treatment rather than an injectable weight loss medicine

Eligible weight-related conditions may include conditions such as high blood pressure, abnormal blood fats, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes, obstructive sleep apnoea or cardiovascular disease.

All patients must complete a clinical assessment before treatment can be prescribed.

How to Take Foundayo®

Foundayo® is taken once daily by mouth.

One of the key advantages of Foundayo® is its flexible administration. It can be taken at any time of day, with or without food, and there are no specific water restrictions.

The tablet should be swallowed whole and should not be split, crushed or chewed.

Treatment normally starts at 0.8mg once daily. The dose can then be gradually increased through the available strengths, with at least 30 days at each dose level before increasing.

Always follow the dosing schedule provided by your prescribing clinician and do not increase your dose unless instructed to do so.
