Common Questions

Curated by Rifqa Jibara, Superintendent Pharmacist and Prescriber. GPhC No. 2232122

How do I move my prescriptions to you? +

Tell us you’d like to transfer either by contacting us or filling our Nominate Me form. We’ll handle the process with your GP and let you know when everything is set up. You don’t need to contact the GP surgery yourself.

Do I need to call ahead before coming in for a prescription? +

Not usually. We send a text message when your prescription is ready for collection, so there’s no need to call in advance.
If you haven’t received a message and aren’t sure whether it’s ready, you’re welcome to call and we’ll check for you. If something is urgent, letting us know in advance helps us prioritise and support you as quickly as possible.

Can someone else collect my prescription for me? +

Yes. They just need to know your name and date of birth. Some medicines like controlled drugs may require IDs, which we’ll explain if needed.

Who can use the repeat prescription service? +

This service is suitable for adults who are already taking a regular medication and require a further supply. Your GP will review your medication history, current health, and any relevant medical information before approving a repeat prescription request.

Do I need to contact my GP? +

No. Once you are registered, we will request your prescriptions directly from your GP surgery on your behalf.

How long does it take to get my medication? +

GP approval typically takes 2–3 working days, after which we will prepare your medication.
We recommend ordering your prescription at least 5–7 days before you run out.

What happens if my medication changes? +

If your GP updates your prescription:
We will dispense the new medication as prescribed
If anything is unclear, we’ll contact you

What medications can be requested through this service? +

Many long-term medications may be suitable for repeat prescribing, depending on the medication, your medical history, and the need for ongoing monitoring. Some medicines may require additional review or may not be suitable for online repeat prescribing.

What if I run out of medication? +

If you run out, contact us as soon as possible.
In some cases, we may be able to provide an emergency supply if appropriate.

What if my prescription request is rejected? +

If your GP surgery is unable to approve your prescription request, we will let you know as soon as possible and explain any information provided by the surgery. You may need to contact your GP or arrange a medication review before the prescription can be issued.
