Description
What is Priligy® (Dapoxetine) Tablets?
Priligy® is a prescription-only medicine containing dapoxetine, used to treat premature ejaculation (PE) in adult men. It is specifically designed to help improve control over ejaculation and increase the time before ejaculation occurs during sexual activity.
Premature ejaculation is one of the most common male sexual health concerns and can affect confidence, relationships and overall quality of life. Priligy® is intended for use in men who meet the appropriate prescribing criteria following clinical assessment.
At The Kingston Pharmacy, Priligy® is supplied as part of our clinician-led premature ejaculation treatment service following a suitability assessment by our clinicians.
Available Strengths
Priligy® is available in the following strengths:
- 30mg tablets
- 60mg tablets
Our clinicians will determine the most appropriate starting dose based on your individual circumstances and treatment needs.
How Does Priligy® Work?
Priligy® contains dapoxetine, a short-acting selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI).
It works by increasing serotonin activity within the nervous system, helping to delay ejaculation and improve control during sexual activity.
Treatment may help to:
- Increase the time before ejaculation
- Improve control over ejaculation
- Reduce distress associated with premature ejaculation
- Improve sexual confidence
- Enhance sexual satisfaction for both partners
Priligy® is taken only when needed and is not intended for daily use.
Who May Be Suitable for Priligy®?
You may be suitable for treatment if you:
- Are aged 18 to 64 years
- Experience premature ejaculation on most occasions during sexual activity
- Are looking for medical treatment to improve ejaculatory control
- Have no medical conditions or medications that make treatment unsuitable
- Meet the prescribing criteria following clinical assessment
All patients must complete a clinical assessment before treatment can be prescribed.
How to Take Priligy®
Priligy® should be taken exactly as directed by your clinician.
The tablet should usually be taken 1 to 3 hours before anticipated sexual activity.
Swallow the tablet whole with at least one full glass of water to help reduce the risk of dizziness or fainting.
Priligy® should not be taken more than once within any 24-hour period.
Always follow the instructions provided by your clinician and use the medication exactly as prescribed.
