Vaccination Schedule

The Yellow Fever vaccine is usually administered as a single injection.

 

 

Primary Vaccination

• Dose 1: Single injection

For most travellers, a single dose provides long-lasting protection against yellow fever.

Protection begins to develop shortly after vaccination and is considered valid for international travel purposes from 10 days after vaccination.

An International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP) can be issued following vaccination where required.

Ideally, travellers should receive the vaccine at least 10 days before departure.

Travelling in more than 10 days: Full certification requirements can usually be met before departure.

Travelling in less than 10 days: Vaccination may still be beneficial, but some countries may not consider the certificate valid until 10 days have passed.

The most appropriate timing will be discussed during your consultation.

 

 

Booster Doses

For most travellers, a booster dose is not routinely required.

Current international guidance considers a single dose of Yellow Fever vaccine to provide lifelong protection for the majority of individuals.
