What is Repeat prescription service?

Managing regular medication shouldn’t be stressful. At Kingston Pharmacy, our Repeat Prescription Service makes it easier to stay on track with your treatment.
We can request your repeat prescriptions directly from your GP, prepare your medication in advance, and have it ready when you need it — helping reduce the risk of running out. Our pharmacy team is also here to answer any questions and support you with your medicines.

Common Questions

How do I move my prescriptions to you? +

Tell us you’d like to transfer either by contacting us or filling our Nominate Me form. We’ll handle the process with your GP and let you know when everything is set up. You don’t need to contact the surgery yourself.

Do I need to call ahead before coming in for a prescription? +

Not usually. We send a text message when your prescription is ready for collection, so there’s no need to call in advance.
If you haven’t received a message and aren’t sure whether it’s ready, you’re welcome to call and we’ll check for you. If something is urgent, letting us know in advance helps us prioritise and support you as quickly as possible.

Can someone else collect my prescription for me? +

Yes. They just need to know your name and date of birth. Some medicines like controlled drugs may require IDs, which we’ll explain if needed.

Are your services NHS or private? +

We offer both NHS-funded and private services.
Some services such as Pharmacy First consultations, certain vaccinations, blood pressure checks, contraception services, may be available through the NHS at no cost, depending on eligibility.
Other services including travel vaccinations, weight management programmes, and some specialist consultations are provided privately.
We’ll always tell you whether a service is NHS or private before you book or proceed, and clearly explain any costs. You can also visit our Services page to see the full range of services we offer, along with pricing where applicable.
